We are searching for multiple Culinary I openings in several food service areas. A variety of shifts are available 7 days a week.

Position Details

General Statement

Culinary Services (CS), a division of Auxiliary Services, provides meals for over 12,000 customers a day becoming an integral part of campus life and the overall college experience. CS proudly provides Montana State University students with not only a repertoire of various cuisines, cooking styles, and flavors, but a comfortable atmosphere to meet friends, study, and simply relax. The division is comprised of 2 residential dining halls, 9 retail operations, Brick Breeden Fieldhouse and Bobcat Stadium Concessions, Fork in the Road food truck, MSU Catering, Indulge In-House Bakery & Salads, and the Farm to Campus Program.

Duties and Responsibilities

Culinary Associate Is will be assigned to a primary work area and are expected to provide excellent customer service and a welcoming dining experience. General duties include:

  • Basic food preparation of hot and cold items
  • Grilling and cooking
  • Garnishing and food presentation
  • Specialty drink preparation
  • Basic production of baked goods
  • Cleaning responsibilities

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

All relevant education and experience that you submit in your application will be considered.

Experience in a customer service or food service position.

Willingness to learn new skills – departments will provide training as needed.

Physical Demands
  • Moving about or being stationary for long periods of time while at work stations.
  • Walking up and down stairs while carrying product.
  • Moving and lifting containers weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending and/or kneeling while stocking product.
  • Gripping handles on small kitchen utensils.
  • Performing repetitive motions such as, but not limited to, chopping, stirring and serving.
  • Will have exposure to cleaning chemicals on a daily basis.
  • Normal kitchen, cooler, freezer conditions.
